This companion data paper presented gender-stratified and subgroup analyses of omega-3 fatty acids measured in erythrocyte membranes in the LURIC cohort, supplementing a primary article on omega-3 fatty acids and mortality in patients referred for coronary angiography. Associations of EPA and other omega-3 proportions with all-cause and cause-specific mortality were examined, including nonlinear modelling of EPA and adjustment for high-sensitive C-reactive protein as a marker of systemic inflammation.
