Haplotypes formed by the angiotensinogen gene polymorphisms T207M and M268T were analysed in 3,306 LURIC participants. The Hap2 haplotype was significantly associated with circulating angiotensinogen levels, with each additional Hap2 allele accounting for an approximately 8% increase — an association stronger than that of either single polymorphism alone. AGT genotypes and haplotypes were not related to hypertension, coronary artery disease, or myocardial infarction.
