CYP2C8 and CYP2C9 polymorphisms were genotyped in 2827 LURIC patients to examine associations with coronary artery disease (CAD) and myocardial infarction (MI). Overall variant frequencies did not differ between cases and controls, though CYP2C9*3 conferred increased MI risk in men (OR 1.67, p = 0.03) and decreased CAD risk in women (OR 0.65, p = 0.05). The results support no major cardiovascular risk from these variants in coronary angiography patients.
