Plasmatic coagulation was characterised across prediabetes metabolic clusters in 917 LURIC participants without diabetes. High-risk clusters (n = 274) exhibited elevated fibrinogen, FVIII, D-dimers, and von Willebrand factor, and a greater all-cause mortality risk (HR = 1.30; 95% CI: 1.01-1.67) than low-risk clusters. Von Willebrand factor significantly mediated cluster-specific mortality, implicating hypercoagulability in the cardiometabolic risk profile of high-risk prediabetes subgroups.
