The L162V polymorphism in PPARA was examined for associations with type 2 diabetes, BMI, body fat composition, intramyocellular lipids, and liver fat content across the TULIP/TUEF cohorts and the LURIC study (total n = 4,779). The SNP showed no association with type 2 diabetes or any measure of adiposity or ectopic fat, indicating that L162V does not strongly influence the pathogenesis of type 2 diabetes or obesity.
