In 3316 LURIC participants with angiographically defined cardiovascular status, two CX3CR1 variants, V249I and T280M, and their I249M280 haplotype showed no association with coronary artery disease (CAD) or myocardial infarction. Adjusted odds ratios for CAD were 0.95 (p = 0.61) for V249I and 0.83 (p = 0.11) for T280M. These results do not support a role for common CX3CR1 variants in CAD susceptibility.
