ABO gene variants were examined in relation to soluble E-selectin levels using a 50K IBC genotyping array in MONICA/KORA (n = 1,482) and LURIC (n = 1,546). The SNP rs651007 showed the strongest association (-0.37 and -0.35 ng/ml per minor allele), explaining 25.6% and 21.3% of sE-selectin variance in the two cohorts. These results link ABO locus variation to E-selectin biology and may clarify its role in coronary artery disease.
