Two phenome-wide association studies (PheWAS) were conducted on LURIC cohort data, one examining cardiac-related diseases and one examining polyunsaturated fatty acid levels, with phenotype quality control applied via the CLARITE software pipeline. Seven SNPs were significantly associated with dihomo-gamma-linolenic acid, five of which mapped to fatty acid desaturases FADS1 and FADS2. The results demonstrate that rigorous, reproducible phenotype quality control is essential for maintaining statistical power in large multi-phenotype epidemiological datasets.
