Gene-gene interactions were examined for 15 cardiac traits and 14 serum fatty acids in 2,824 LURIC participants using main-effect filtering and Biofilter software. Main-effect filtering identified 57 Bonferroni-significant interactions, including rs1383819 (SNTG1) x rs1493939 (near SAMD12) for arterial hypertension (p = 0.0228) and rs4839193 (KCND3) x rs10829717 (LOC107984002) for 9-trans 12-trans octadecanoic acid (p = 2.28e-5). These filtering strategies offer a scalable approach to epistasis detection in complex traits.
