Central and brachial blood pressure (BP) parameters were compared as predictors of cardiovascular and all-cause mortality in 3,316 LURIC patients undergoing coronary angiography. After multivariable adjustment, only pulse pressure amplification (delta-PP) independently predicted mortality: each 10 mmHg increase was linked to a 4% reduction in all-cause and a 6% reduction in cardiovascular mortality. These findings suggest delta-PP is a more relevant mortality predictor than absolute BP measurements in patients with medium-to-high cardiovascular risk.
